Rapala Freetime Australia warrants Okuma reels for life to the original purchaser from material and manufacturing defects where the reel has been purchased in Australia from local Rapala Freetime Australia authorised dealers.
Rapala Freetime Australia cannot guarantee product that has been sourced directly by the consumer from overseas as these reels may not be manufactured to our strict Australian standards and conditions.
When claiming warranty, the consumer will have to include proof of purchase detailing the retail store where he/she purchased the reel and when it was purchased.
l have just purchased a okuma 65a v systerm from USA brand new in the box to find the anti-reverse has failed, didnt even get the spool full , and you tell me you wont honour the warranty for a reel that is not sold in Aust, but sold world wide, the 65a v has had prodlems in the passed with anti-reverse bearing through out the world not just Aust over the years l have owned four 55v systerms. Hope this problem can be rectified or it will be the last one l buy, in my opinion okuma is a registered world wide name, should have the warranty to suit . Just for curiosty whats the difference between the 65av systerm in aust and USA and china

The warranty offered on Okuma products in Australia is not a manufacturers warranty – it is a distributors warranty that is offerd by Rapala VMC Australia.
As we are not owned by Okuma we are only in a position to offer repairs on reels that have been distributed (sold) by us.
We are happy to repair the reel for you for a small servicing fee.
