SA Snapper Report – Issue 9

SA Fishing ReportIn Whyalla the fishing action has been top for both land based and boat fishing.

For the land based anglers small Kingfish have been on the go around Black Point, Point Lowly and Becky Point. Nice size Garfish have been found on the marina entrance in the calm afternoons.

On the local jetty, few Crabs have been caught along with Garfish, Tommies and Snook on dusk.

Moving along the beach a few big Silver Whiting have been caught early morning on sunrise along with bucket loads of Trumpiters “shitties” as well as the people raking for crabs have caught plenty along the blue line.

SA Fishing ReportFor the boats Snapper are red hot!!! Whyalla Fishing Charters have been bagging out by 8am every morning. The Snapper have moved into Cowleds shallows on dusk and all the local drops are producing fish.

Bag limits of crabs infront of Mount Young have been achieved in one hour. Garfish have been good in most areas but Whiting are hard to get to with the local Trumpiters moving in.

Whyalla’s hot topic for this report is a local fisherman who has been Bagging out on Snapper in his small canoe in the afternoons. paddling into the marina with an esky full of big and smaller fish just afloat!
