Two more subscribers have won trips on the show -
I can’t give too much away but the last trip for the new show “Fishing Addiction” was a blast with the winner surprised at the school that he teaches at. He was so surprised the guy started hugging me as we told him the news that we were off to Cape York chasing Tuna. He had no idea we were coming as we organized everything behind his back with his wife. The reaction was priceless.
What a trip it was too. I have never seen so many Mac Tuna going off before. The water was boiling all around the boat and we couldn’t help but chase these fast fish with the lightest gear we had with us. These little bullets pull very hard for their size and nothing sounds better than 100 metres of braid screaming off your reel. Throw in some great fishing for the usual species such as Queenfish and Trevally plus an amazing session on Golden Snapper and you have a trip never to be forgotten.
The next trip was to Whyaller in SA fishing for monster Snapper. The young bloke we chose for this trip had never experienced anything like it in his life. Again, his reaction was pricesless and his mates reaction was even better. Whyaller is an amazing Snapper fishery with 6kg Snapper considered average. We smashed some awesome fish on that trip.
Remember; subscribe to this newsletter and it could be you coming with us on the show “Fishing Addiction” to an amazing destination in our beautiful country. The show will air in Dec/Jan this year on Foxtell’s Lifestyle channel. Make sure you tune in. Cheers, Mark Berg

Thanks for a great show.

Just watched Travis and his dad fishing on your show, loved it its great that there are still alot of kids that love fishing as much as i and my daughter do. As a young kid growing up in NZ we would holiday in a small fishing village every school break and all i did was swim and fish off the wharf all day everyday caught all sorts of fish. Now my daughter is interested as my husband and I would take her every sunday in Perth to a place where she could have fun and enjoy fishing, sadley tragedy struck and now we dont go there, so if you know where else to take her, if you know of any fishing spots in perth that she can have a little fun catching fish(Blowies dont count) could you let us know would appreciate it so much as she asks every week when can we go fishing?
awsome show mark the little tricks iv learnt watching you catch fish with luers will last me a life time.in the mid 80″s my dad was a pro fisherman off woolgoolga witch is a few km north of coffs harbour.i seen some huge snapper jew fish and spanish mackeral, huge kingys.as my dad and i worked out of a little milligan it was hard work to make a liveing.early one morning pullen cray pots at moonie beach headland in a 2 meter sea we come in grabbed the floats started pullen the pot as we were turning the boat to get away from the bomby, out of know were a three and a half meter wave stood up and hit us side on we slid down the wave the boat turned and hit the headland.from the force of water i was on the floor the second wave hit and turned the boat upside dowm i was stuck the third wave hit and the boat broke open.i swam to my dad voice who was up on the rocks screaming not knowing were i was, he had blood over his face from were his top teeth went thru his bottom lip,on impact he was flug over the bow and landed on the rocks.we both sat there in pain (id cracked two disks in my back) looking at the bebree floating on the water we had just lost everything. we walked to the caravan park to ring for help unknown to us our insurence had ran out oops.we moved down to shepparton worked for years picking fruit saved up bought a milligan saved up for a few more years bought an 06 merk 75 horsepower rebuilt got it fitted in time for 2011 snapper season in port philip first trip left the boat ramp about 1 km out it started to miss then ran on two cilenders got back to boat ramp saftly.we took it to wes frost marine 6 weeks and $1500 later to find out water had bestoyed the krank so i now own a $6000 ancher.so we never court a snapper.my dads in his 60s now time i save up to get anougher motor he will be to old to travel the 3 hour trip each way to catch a snapper,so now we sit in our lounge and enjoy watching you catch fish.
Hi Mark,
I am the proud mum of my 19 year old son who is adicted to fishing and your show. We recently moved house to the central coast for the coastal lifestyle and his love of the ocean and what lies under it. I have to record the show as he is an apprentice plumber and travels each morning at 4.30 to work in the city 6 days a week. Even though he enjoys charters every so often he is constantly asking me to nominate him for an adventure with your show but not knowing how to go about it I thought I would send yo this note. We have subscribed to the newsletter but I watned to give him a better chance of winning what he calls the “madest thing on earth”. I go fishing with him as he has not male role model having gorwn up without his dad, but mum is not always the best fishing partner as he fishes for sometimes 8 hours in one stint and mum needs to go home well before this. Anyway hope he gets a look in.
Kim
Hi mark,
I usually wake up about midday on weekends. But now that your show and lots of other fishing shows are on, i am awake at about 9am with my dad. I love watching all your shows because I see you bringing in fish 30kg + and i have only been river fishing going for flathead, flounder, bream and rock cod. Just being able to go out and catch even a 10kg+ fish i would be extremely happy. Even though im still fairly young, the fishing spirit still remains
Matt

hi Mark
my son (James) and hasband (Andrew) are mad with fishing nearly every weekend they will go out to the bay and get snapper last week they went to portland and got 7 19 kg bluefin tuna. My son always watches your shows and he loves it. My hasband owned a game fishing boat in townsville called TOP SHOT we went to go up there and get the marlin. So it will be great if they could come with you on a fishing trip and catch more fish hope to hear back from you soon.

Dear Mark
My husband is a huge fan of your show and recently ( in the past year or so) found his passion in life …fishing! He grew up on the ocean sailing lasers as a child and its no wonder his love of the big blue has transitioned to fishing. Matt takes every opportunity he can to go fishing on the weekends but with two young children finding the time makes it challenging. I’d like to nominate Matt for being a fantastic dad and husband. I work very long hours and Matt takes on most of the parenting for our two children. He is very deserving and it would be such a thrill for him to go on a fishing trip of a lifetime. Recently he went fishing and caught a 40kg yellow fin tuna …..couldn’t wipe the smile from his face for weeks! Keep up the good work, the family enjoys watching your show every weekend. Thanks Jennifer
